Great Futures Gala Benefits Boys & Girls Clubs
The “Great Futures Gala” is this Friday, November 17, at 6pm at The Chase Park Plaza. The Gala showcases the youth who embody the ideals of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis' mission to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. Funds from this event are crucial to continuing programs such as Diplomas to Degrees, Mentor St. Louis, Keystone Clubs, Money Matters, and Career Launch. Candidates will give speeches at the gala and then "Youth of the Year" will be awarded. For more information, contact Ruth Lederman at 314-335-8008. After party entertainment includes a performance by “Dirty Muggs”.

Who We Are: For more than fifty years, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis (BGCSTL), has been providing after school, summer, teen and sports programs for youth ages 6-18.
What We Do: The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater St. Louis is to inspire and enable youth to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens. The Clubs now serve St. Louis youth at ten locations (Adams Park Club, Ferguson Middle School Club, Grannemann Elementary School Club, Herbert Hoover Club, Lee Hamilton Elementary School Club, O’Fallon Park Club, Riverview Gardens Club and Hazelwood Southeast Middle School Club), within two High Schools (Normandy and Roosevelt High School) as well as five additional elementary schools through our Mentor St. Louis Program. The Clubs are open during hours that kids are most likely to need a safe place to go — after school and during summer.
Why We Are Important: Boys & Girls Clubs programs have taken members from the Clubhouse to the White House; from the games room to the corporate board room; from the high school orchestra to Carnegie Hall. Nationally recognized programs address today’s most pressing youth issues, teaching young people the skills they need to succeed in life. It is our hope that every kid who comes through our doors, graduates from high school with a plan for their future! Membership fees are kept low to allow any child the opportunity to join and includes access to after school homework assistance, tutoring, college and career planning, recreational activities, access to transportation, free dental and vision care as well as healthy meals in a safe, supportive learning environment.
Volunteer. Mentor. Coach.
Volunteers empower Club members to succeed in school through structured, positive mentoring relationships, and it is a great way for the community, individuals and companies to get involved! Volunteers can tutor, assist with homework, coach an athletic team, serve at events or simply read to a child or group of children.
