Predicting the 2022 Color of the Year
2022 is right around the corner…
Did we read that right? Yes! In fact, Pantone is already predicting their 2022 Color of the Year. In the past, shades like Ultimate Gray and Living Coral have taken first place and inspired countless color schemes in homes, offices, and just about everywhere else.
The first Pantone Color of the Year was unveiled in 2000 and has since grown to international recognition. Pantone says: “The selection process requires thoughtful consideration and trend analysis. To arrive at the selection each year, Pantone’s color experts at Pantone Color Institute comb the world looking for new color influences.” This year, predictions are being influenced by the ongoing COVID 19 pandemic, much like 2020’s Color of the Year, Classic Blue. Executive Director of Pantone, Leatrice Eiseman on the impact of the pandemic on the selection process: “We are living in a time that requires trust and faith … classic blue is a solid and dependable blue hue we can always rely on.” Click here for more on Everything You Need to Know About the 2022 Color of the Year.
