A Refreshing First in Missouri

Last month, we ended July on a high note, with the opening of SWADE Cannabis’ fifth location on Cherokee Street in Tower Grove. Now, we have something else to raise our glasses to: SWADE’s collaboration with O’Fallon Brewery to launch the non-alcoholic, cannabis-infused beverage MOHI.

The idea for this project started brewing in 2019 between BeLeaf Medical and O’Fallon Brewery. Fast forward to 2021 and the finished product is a non-alcoholic cannabis-infused option – featuring small-batch brewing techniques, craft beer taste, and only 80 calories. Each 12 oz can contains 5 mg of emulsified THC. President of O’Fallon Brewery Jim Gorczyca says, “While just 1% of cannabis is consumed through beverages, only a fraction of that is beer because most cannabis beverages are sodas or seltzers. Only BeLeaf and very few others are taking the time to brew hand crafted beer, remove the alcohol and then infuse it with THC. It’s not easy but it’s worth it.”

After a summer of spiked seltzers, this low calorie, non-alcoholic option is the perfect pour for fall. Beyond its low calorie count, MOHI uses natural flavors of orange citrus and vanilla to complement the emulsified THC. BeLeaf CSO Stephanie Cernicek says, “the onset occurs quickly and stronger than its traditional counterpart, usually within the first 15 minutes, and gives the patient full control of their experience.” Since an SL reader is always on the cutting edge, this product is perfect for “patients [who] are looking for new ways to consume cannabis,” says BeLeaf CMO Mitch Meyers. Meyers and BeLeaf medical have been at the forefront of the Ag movement here in Missouri … click here for more #Scoop on this budding industry. MOHI will be available beginning August 20th at all SWADE cannabis locations for Missouri medical card patients. For more information, visit www.swadecannabis.com
