Liverpool Legends To Recreate 1971 Concert

The Liverpool Legends will perform at The Pageant later this month in celebration of the original Concert for Bangladesh organized by George Harrison of The Beatles on August 1, 1971 at Madison Square Garden in New York. The popular Beatles tribute band will also be joined by Sandalwood Sitar.

Partners in Sustainable Development International (PSDI), a nonprofit organization located in St. Louis focused on poverty eradication in Bangladesh, is hosting the benefit concert on Saturday, August 25 at 8pm.

Funds raised at this event will support PSDI’s mission to promote and support poverty eradication among extremely poor families in rural areas of Bangladesh using a holistic model that involves and supports the family in their uplift. PSDI’s work in Bangladesh is carried out through their sister organization, the Poverty Eradication Program (PEP). Over 325,000 people have been lifted out of poverty since PEP’s work began in the late 1980’s. Twenty-one million people in Bangladesh live in extreme poverty on less than $2.00/day.

Liverpool Legends promises “The Complete Beatles Experience!” The band was formed by Louis Harrison, George Harrison’s sister, and is the only Beatles Tribute Band with a direct family link to the Beatles. "Each member of the group is so close to the originals that I often feel like I'm transported back in time with the lads. These are exactly the kind of fun loving quality musicians that my brother George would have loved to hang out with,” says Harrison. They have headlined at Carnegie Hall and at the Rose Bowl, have had their own show in Branson, Missouri for 12 years, and have sold out stadiums around the world.

Sandalwood Sitar performers Clar and GiGi Monaco have been performing India inspired and Beatles music for more than two decades. Past prestigious engagements have included; the Dali Lama Celebration; Chicago/Lahore Sister City Inauguration and the Chicago Millennium Park Lurie Garden Grand Opening.

All seating for the event is reserved with tickets available at Suite 100 at The Pageant, The Pageant Box Office, www.thepageant.com or by phone through Ticketmaster at 1.800.745.3000.  Tickets sell for $40 each with VIP tickets available for $100.
