Jazz St. Louis Remembers St. Louis Native and Jazz Legend David Sanborn

Everyone in the jazz world and beyond is grieving loss of David Sanborn on Monday, May 13 after a prolonged battle with cancer.  To say that David was a legend might be a bit of and understatement. David’s illustrious, storied career included performances with music's most celebrated figures. He won six Grammys and released 25 albums, one of which went platinum and eight gold. Houska Gallery’s misuri & BAJA BLAST Exhibitions Blow Through with Opening Reception on Friday

Charlie Houska opens his doors for two other luminaries in the St. Louis art scene this Friday at an opening night reception. A Whopping 1.1-Million Dollars Raised in Just One Night at St. Louis Symphony Orchestra Gala featuring Yo-Yo Ma

On Friday, May 3, the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra announced that it raised $1.135 million for its artistic, education, and community programs at its gala event and concert featuring the internationally acclaimed musician and philanthropist Yo-Yo Ma. Gala guests enjoyed an evening at Stifel Theatre including dinner, drinks, and dancing with live music, all in support of the SLSO as it concludes its 144th season. The Power of Alchemy

With her giant etching press and a healthy dose of alchemy, owner and Master Printer of Wildwood Press, Maryanne Ellison Simmons works with artists to bring new beauty to life. Simmons and her husband, Ted, a former Cardinals baseball player, met in junior high school and much later, began a life of collecting. In 2020, the couple donated 833 pieces of art to the Saint Louis Art Museum and held an exhibit called “Catching the Moment”. Read more about her story here.
