Mystery Thriller Author Coming to St. Louis

Internationally bestselling crime writer Karin Slaughter is coming to St. Louis Monday night to talk about what is being hailed as her most heart-pounding standalone thriller to date, Pieces Of Her. She will appear at the St. Louis County Library Headquarters on Lindbergh Blvd.

For the past eighteen years, Slaughter has released a plethora of poignant yet gripping New York Times bestselling thrillers. Fans flock to her Grant County and Will Trent series—her latest addition was the bestselling twisty police procedural, The Kept Woman (2016)—but it is her recent mega-standalones like Pretty Girls (2015) and The Good Daughter (2017) that are taking Karin to new heights. Most recently Bruna Papandrea’s company Made Up Stories has acquired the rights for Pieces Of Her and plans to develop a television series project based on the book with Endeavor Content. Writer Charlotte Stoudt (“Homeland,” “House of Cards”) will adapt the novel and serve as an executive producer for the project. Lesli Linka Glatter (“Homeland,” “Mad Men”) is attached to direct and executive produce.

About Karin Slaughter:

While women have historically been discouraged from talking about violence, Karin has never been silent. In fact, she has been having an honest dialogue about this “hot-button” issue with her readers for almost two decades—the evolution and trajectory of this conversation has given Karin a unique perspective on what it means to be a woman today. To Karin, silence is acceptance and the idea of not talking about violence only makes it okay. After learning about past abuse in her own family, she vowed to shine a light on the subject through her writing. Travelling the world on book tour, she's found that violence against women is unfortunately all too common. Filled with fascinatingly flawed characters, masterful twists and turns, and a laser sharp focus on emotional violence rather than physical violence, Karin’s Pieces Of Her reminds readers that life’s pain can be experienced in all shapes and sizes.
