Local Preschool to hold 3D Celebration

University City Children’s Center, one of the most diverse preschool centers in the region, is celebrating its 50th birthday with a 3D virtual birthday bash tomorrow, September 17, at 6:30pm. Guests who register for the event will be sent 3D glasses to watch a special show featuring UCCC children. This virtual event, designed to give party goers the opportunity to spend time “in the world of a child,” will highlight the importance and significance of 3-dimensional interactions. KSDK’s Rene Knott will host the event.

UCCC was one of the first early learning centers to open during the pandemic, while caring for first responder and essential worker’s children. The teachers at UCCC say spending hours in front of a screen in a time of virtual learning could be detrimental to a child’s health and even hinder learning. Early education specialist and University City Children’s Center’s executive director Steve Zwolak has worked with The Bezos Foundation and Harvard regarding best practices for early learning. The focus at UCCC has always been on emotional learning.
