Volunteers Needed: It's Your Birthday

It’s Your Birthday, Inc. is kicking off the new year with a fun virtual volunteer opportunity.  Similar to past decorating events of hats and treat bags, this time the nonprofit needs help decorating dozens of birthday boxes to be delivered to children in homeless and domestic violence shelters.

Since March of 2020, the nonprofit has paused hosting birthday parties in shelters and instead, provided the child with a fun Birthday-in-a-Box (or in some cases, a Birthday-in-a-Bag). But now, supplies of nicely decorated boxes are running low and the organization anticipates celebrating 250-300 birthdays this year. A goal to decorate 60 boxes has been set to help get parties ready for the first few months of 2021.

Volunteers are requested for a day of virtual service on January 18th in observance of the Dr. MLK Day of Service. See below or the attached flyer for details.  No RSVP is needed – just dial in at one of the times most convenient for you. This is a great activity for you and a friend, family members, co-workers, or teen community volunteer hours!
