Local Charity to Benefit when Joe Buck hosts "Jeopardy!"

As many already know, Joe Buck was tapped to guest host the last few episodes of the “Jeopardy!” season to be aired sometime in August. While that’s exciting news in itself, the show will be matching the winnings on those episodes to be donated to KidSmart, a local nonprofit dedicated to providing critical supplies and support to St. Louis children. The organization was featured in the 2020 edition of Sophisticated Giving.

KidSmart CEO, Jennifer Miller, says, “The Jeopardy! contestants, audience and viewers at home will truly be in for a treat with Joe! Joe is absolutely brilliant and along with his quick wit and sharp mind, you will get his amazing sense of humor, his humbleness and his huge heart! Joe, his wife Michelle, sister Julie...his girls, Trudy and Natalie...his nephews and his mother have always been so incredibly generous with their time, talent and treasure...and more often than not, it’s completely under the radar screen.”

She adds, “With KidSmart, alone, for nearly two decades, Joe and his family have hosted a signature event in St. Louis, every year raising critical funds that make it possible for KidSmart to equip 90,000 students living in poverty, and attending schools in our most impoverished neighborhoods, with millions of absolutely free, essential school supplies...Items as basic as notebooks, pencils, markers, glue, backpacks, books...and So much more! All enriching tools these students (and every student) desperately need to have a chance at learning and succeeding in school.”

Miller says the generous gift from “Jeopardy!” and from Joe will have an immediate and long-lasting, positive impact, giving the gift of learning today and offering real hopes and promise for 90,000 St. Louis students.
