Fashion-Filled Evening Kicks Off Upcoming Gala to Celebrate Conductor Leonard Slatkin's 80th Birthday & Chamber Music Society of St. Louis' 15th Anniversary

The Chamber Music Society's Vintage Gala committee held a kickoff reception May 16th at Adam Foster's Fine Jewelry with a fashion-filled evening featuring an exclusive exhibition of haute couture vintage gowns by Alex Teih of New York. The gala committee hosting the vintage-themed event is planning an exceptional evening of entertainment on Monday, September 9 at The Sheldon to commemorate Leonard Slatkin's 80th birthday and the Chamber Music Society's 15th Anniversary.
The evening will include cocktails with Leonard Slatkin followed by dinner catered by Butler's Pantry and a concert featuring acclaimed pianist Olga Kern, world-renowned violinist and chamber musician, Cho-Liang "Jimmy" Lin with Chamber Music Society's musicians. About Leonard Slatkin
Internationally acclaimed conductor Leonard Slatkin is Conductor Laureate of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra. He maintains a rigorous schedule of guest conducting throughout the world and is active as a composer, author, and educator. Slatkin has received six Grammy awards and 35 nominations.
Slatkin has conducted virtually all the leading orchestras in the world. As Music Director, he has held posts in New Orleans; St. Louis; Washington, DC; London (with the BBCSO); Detroit; and Lyon, France. He has also served as Principal Guest Conductor in Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, Minneapolis, and Cleveland.
