Give STL Day May 6
It’s not a new concept that St. Louis is one of the most giving cities in the country. When a need or a cause is established, we have the philanthropists, civic leaders and generous population that continues to step up to the plate. For the eighth year in a row, St. Louisans will be asked to show their generosity in unity and make donations across the board in celebration of Give STL Day, coming up on May 6.
All of the details of how to give, where to give and why to give are on the website, GiveSTLDay.org. Sponsored by the Berges Family Foundation, and powered by St. Louis Community Foundation, hundreds of local nonprofits will benefit from donations. Last year during the rise of COVID-19, $4.5 million was raised— a record for GiveSTLDay and a remarkable testament to our city that the giving never stops. With needs higher than last year and fundraising efforts including galas and in-person drives being canceled, the goal is to do more.
In the coming weeks, you’ll start to see spotlights of dozens of local charities on our blog, all of which are featured in the next issue of Sophisticated Giving magazine. While May 6 is the push for the entire community to make a difference, you can give any day of the year. If this has you inspired to make a donation today, check out our list of charities featured in our last issue of Sophisticated Giving by clicking here. Together we can– and have– made a difference!
